How to use - Lightly paint color across the top of the sponge to reduce over saturation, which creates swelling of the sponge. Pounce once lightly on a paper towel to remove excess paint, then pounce on kit.
Cleaning Instruction:
- Heat set paint - Pounce off excess paint on paper towel - Always use the same color family for each sponge to prevent color mixing.
- Air dry paint - Pounce off paint directly after use and hold sponge under running water, gently squeezing sponge until water runs clear. Slightly squeeze out excess water and let air dry on a paper towel. Always use the same color family for each sponge to prevent color mixing.
- Silicone paint - Pounce off paint directly after use and submerse sponge in a small container of mineral spirits, gently squeezing sponge and submersing to remove paint. Lightly squeeze out excess thinner and let air dry on paper towels. Always use the same color family for each sponge to prevent color mixing.
Care of Professional Artist Tools
Many of the products we supply — including sponges, brushes, needles and other application tools — are professional artist consumables.
Their performance and lifespan depend on correct use, cleaning, and care.
Sponges and brushes should always be cleaned immediately after use. Allowing paint (heat-set, air-dry, or silicone) to dry within the fibres or foam can permanently harden the material and damage the tool.
Damage caused by dried paint, improper cleaning, excessive pressure, or misuse is not considered a manufacturing fault and would therefore not be eligible for replacement or refund.
Care and usage guidance is provided on relevant product pages and should be followed to ensure the best performance and longevity of the tool.
Painting tools
Use clean, suitable tools for your chosen painting system. Keep heat-set and air-dry materials in separate, clearly labelled project pathways and avoid transferring residue between systems.
Air-dry pathway: Waterborne Clear Base Primer · Waterborne Primary Colours set of 3 x 15ml · WaterBorne ™ Individual Paint Colours (trial size and standard) · Waterborne Paints Air Dry Starter Set For Reborn Artists
