IRHSP Thick Medium
Irresistables Heat Set Paint (IRHSP) Thick Medium is a premium, odourless, non-solvent medium designed to increase paint viscosity while maintaining a smooth, workable consistency.
This versatile medium allows you to build stronger layers of colour while still achieving the transparency needed for realistic skin effects. It can also be tinted to create controlled, transparent washes, giving you greater flexibility in your painting technique.
Compatible with all IRHSP mediums and oil-based heat set paints (including Genesis), Thick Medium can be blended to achieve your ideal working consistency. It also acts as a colour extender, helping you customise both texture and finish with precision.
 
How to Use
Add a small amount of Thick Medium to your paint or chosen medium
Mix thoroughly to achieve your desired consistency
Do not exceed 40% medium to paint ratio
Apply as required and heat set at 265°F (130°C) for 9 minutes
Allow to cool between layers
Important: Do not exceed 350°F (175°C) during heat setting.
 
Top Tips
Use sparingly — a little goes a long way
Adding too much may prevent proper drying and leave a soft or tacky finish
Ideal for building layers while maintaining control and transparency
Can be combined with other IRHSP mediums to customise texture and flow
