Module 1: Understanding Vinyl Reborn Kits
Introduction

Welcome to Module 1 of the Mott & Gido Reborn Academy. This module will help you understand the basics of vinyl reborn kits—the essential building blocks of many beautiful reborn dolls.

What Are Vinyl Reborn Kits?
Vinyl kits typically consist of a head, limbs, and a cloth body. They come in two main styles: open eyes or sleeping. For beginners, I recommend starting with sleeping kits, as they are generally easier to work with.

Kit Sizes and Recommendations
Vinyl kits come in a variety of sizes, from tiny preemie kits around 10 inches, up to child-sized toddlers measuring 26 inches or more.
For beginners, we suggest choosing a sleeping newborn size kit between 18 and 20 inches. These kits:
-
Offer a comfortable size to paint
-
Provide a good surface area to practice your techniques
-
Are less intimidating to complete compared to very tiny or very large kits
Smaller micro preemie kits and larger toddler kits are better suited for more experienced artists due to their complexity.
