The Policy Change: President Trump's Executive Order of July 30th removed the $800 exemption that has facilitated international trade for decades. Effective August 29th, every single parcel to the US - even a £5 paint tube - now faces customs duties and processing fees.
Real Impact on Real Businesses: We now pay an additional £10 per parcel just to send items to the US Our customers face unexpected duties on arrival Small orders become economically unviable International trade becomes prohibitively expensive for small businesses This wasn't thought through. No consultation with businesses affected. No consideration for small enterprises or customers who rely on international suppliers for specialised products like reborn art supplies. What This Means: We must add £10 to every US shipment. We don't want to, but we cannot absorb costs imposed by poorly planned trade policies.
